Public meeting on Quincy's future development, affordable housing to be held Thursday
QUINCY – The city and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council will host a webinar Thursday night to discuss a five-year plan for housing stock growth currently in the works.
The council has worked with dozens of Massachusetts communities to develop Housing Production Plans, which help leaders "better understand local housing need and demand, development constraints and opportunities, and their vision for future affordable housing," the agency's website says.
Now through Jan. 3, an online open house available 24 hours per day will present data, charts and graphs to residents and ask them to complete activities and answer multiple choice questions. The activities take 30 minutes to an hour to complete.
The webinar, scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, will have much of the same data as the open house but also provide an opportunity to meet the project team and directly ask questions about the plan.

"Both the online open house and the webinar will provide residents with a chance to learn about existing housing conditions, weigh in on priorities for the plan and share their vision for future housing development in Quincy," Sean Glennon, Quincy Community Development director, said in an email.
