Update on Point Webster Middle School Green Communities Grant

Over the past summer, Quincy Public Schools was awarded a $200,000 Green Communities Grant to fund energy conservation measures and install over 1,000 LED lights throughout Point Webster Middle School.

The work has been ongoing over the past few weeks (after school hours) and should be completed by the end of January. A single LED light bulb requires far less power than a traditional light bulb – only 38 watts compared to 84 watts – and this project will help Quincy continue to reduce our overall energy consumption.

I appreciate the work of our team to secure the maximum allowable grant award under the program and the work of our public buildings team to get the job done.
